What’s your store name and how long have you been an Etsymom?

My store’s name is Peanut Feet (http://peanutfeet.etsy.com) . I have been a member of EtsyMom for about 6 months.

Tell us something about you, your family, your craft or your store?

I am a "retired" interior designer that has taken Mommyhood on as a full time position! I am a proud Texan (only left for 3 years while my husband was in law school). I have two curious (and wonderful kids), a crazy westie and a hard working husband.

I started designing socks just after Miss Peanut was born. She had tiny "peanut feet" that just screamed for cute socks. However nothing but the plain itty bitty newborn socks would work. I got out my craft box and some beads from my son's art desk and went to work and peanut feet grew from there...

Where do you get your inspirations?

I get inspirations from things around me. Color combinations in nature, toys or art work done by my kids. Holidays and seasons also play a role in my work. I also use current clothing collections as part of my inspiration, “every outfit is not complete without accessories”

What is the first thing you think of when someone said “Spring”?

FLOWERS!!!

Give us some ideas on how to have the most family fun during Spring?

We live in Texas, so one of my favorite spring activites is to take the kids out to the fields of bluebonnets and take their pictures in them. They have a blast and it makes for great pictures.

Tell us something about you, your family, your craft or your store?

I'm a full time Mama to two girls. I've always loved paper goods and crafting. While I was pregnant with my first kiddo, I couldn't find any nursery art that was special enough for my first baby. I created my first three nursery pieces and discovered my desire to create pieces for friends and family. I love the idea of creating a piece of art that will be part of such a special room in the home, the nursery.

Where do you get your inspirations?

I'm inspired by my children and the journeys we take together.

What is the first thing you think of when someone said “Spring”?

Sun shining, birds chirping and flowers blooming...oh, and in New England, snow melting!

Marvelous Mom Weekly - Anne - Felt It

As a mom I always think about our environment as it will impact the future of our children. I am a SAHM of one 2-year-old daughter and an inner city high school teacher currently on child care leave.

I have always loved to make things, even as a small child. I have especially loved working with fibers and textiles.

For many years, cross-stitch was a pastime that I enjoyed. When I moved to NYC, my students learned how to crochet in an after school program and I became fascinated by the range of fibers that were available. I am just learning how to crochet now. At the time, I had chosen to take up knitting rather than crochet and was able to teach many of those same students the art of knitting.  That process took on an entirely new perspective when a couple of the students wished to learn how to sew. It renewed my passion for sewing that I had originally inherited from my mother, the quilter.

The tissue cozies began as graduation gifts for my students to take to college.  Something that I had handmade with a specific meaningful image for each student. The students and parents liked them so much that I was encouraged to extend the project.

So, here I am... experimenting, stitching, and creating new designs, structures, and crafts for myself, for my friends and family, and now for others through my etsy shop. Felt It items are all made from Eco-Felt Fabric. This felt fabric is made from recycled post-consumer plastic bottles! Another score for the planet!

A Cup of Tea

One day my mother was out, and my dad was in charge of me.

I was maybe 2 1/2 years old. Someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a gift, and it was one of my favorite toys.

Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought him a little cup of 'tea', which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my mom came home.

My dad made her wait in the living room to watch me bring him a cup of tea, because it was 'just the cutest thing!' Mom waited, and sure enough, here I came down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy; and she watched him drink it up.

Then she said, (as only a mother would know), "'Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?"

March For Babies 2010

Hello EtsyMoms! It’s me, Allison (aka craftgirlalli). I want to share with you about March for Babies and ask you to help raise money so that all babies can be born healthy!!

What is March for Babies?
March for Babies is the March of Dimes signature event. The funds raised in March for Babies support our mission to give every baby a healthy start. We’ve been walking since 197and have raised an incredible $1.8 billion.

How big is March for Babies?
Every year, more than 7 million people get involved in March for Babies as sponsors,
volunteers and participants.

How do I get involved?
If you want to participate in the walk, then sign up your team at marchforbabies.org. Ask family, friends, neighbors & co-workers to join you. If people can’t do the walk, ask them to support the team with a donation.

I ask you, Etsymoms:
•Donate the “cents” amount in your paypal account – after all, every little bit counts!
•Have certain items in your shop dedicated as a “March for Babies” item and donate the proceeds.
•Have a dedicated “March for Babies” week and donate all or a portion of the proceeds.
•Donate a portion of your sales for the entire month of April.
•If you can’t donate, then simply help raise awareness! Do a blog post similar to this one. Share with your blog readers how important the March of Dimes – March for Babies is.
•There are many, many ways in which you can help!

When do we walk?
In most communities, March for Babies is held at the end of April. Visit marchforbabies.org to find out where and when your event takes place.

How long is the route?
Routes have no standard length, but most are 6 miles or under. People can walk any
distance that works for them. And there are plenty of snack and rest stops along the way.

How does the money we raise help?
The March of Dimes spends 76 percent of the money raised in March for Babies on research and programs that promote the health of babies. By walking and raising money, your donation helps us:
•Support all-important research offering preventions and solutions for babies born too soon or with birth defects
•Educate women on things they can do to increase their chances of having a
healthy baby
•Provide comfort and information to families with a baby in intensive care
•Push for newborn screening, and health insurance for all pregnant women and
children

The March of Dimes is one of the best-known charities in the country. We help moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. And if something goes wrong, we offer comfort and information to families. We research the problems that threaten our babies and work on preventing them.

What’s your store name and how long have you been an Etsymom?

My shop name is L'Accent Nou, it means New Accent in Catalan language - native language of Majorcan people, Balearic Islands, Spain where I live.


I've been Etsymom for about 3-4 weeks.  And I have to say that I not only found a place where I can sell my work, I opened a window to a big bright world of creative people, and in this world I was so happy to find EtsyMoms team - warm and familiar relationship between people.

Tell us more about your store items and why you love making them?

In my store you can find one of a kind jewelry made mostly from cold porcelain clay (a kind of airdry polymer clay, rather sturdy material). I'm in constant search and experiment with unusual materials. I combine clay with copper wire, I like to include natural materials like seeds, branches, leaves, sand...Often my inspiration comes from the Nature.

I love plastic arts in general. And clay was my passion from very young age.

I remember when I was little girl I asked my parents to bring clay home, I had like an impulse to do something with clay....and now I think this impulse just came out.

Making pieces from clay is what I enjoy most. It is the moment to play and have fun. Creative moments are my favorite!

What is one thing you want everyone to know about you?

During long time I was asking myself - For what serves the art?




And than I understood that I don't need to look for explication, I need just do what my heart says. And than I saw that people began to enjoy just looking at my work, and it gives me a great satisfaction. I understood that art serves to make people smile, to feel better, to surprise and to discover different ways to be.


I try to enjoy everything I do. If I'm not in a good mood I leave the work, and continue in a better moment, I try to transmit positive energy to everything I do.


I'm perfectionist. Always there is a way to improve!


And I'm never bored. I don't have enough time to do everything I would.


Very important for me is to comunicate with people and with my customers and understand what they really want. Happy client is the best gratification for me.


I love Nature, I love to walk and observe trees, herbs, animals, stones...I try to use ecological materials and to be eco-friendly with my actions in general.

What’s your favorite thing to do during Easter?

Easter week is week-off at school, we can organize some travel with my husband and children! I love hiking and I love excursions to mountains or just go to the beach and stay by the sea.

How much Easter chocolate/candy bunny or eggs will you let your kid(s) eat?

My children receive one chocolate bunny for Easter from grandmother and it's rather big. I think It will be enough. My daughter she loves chocolate and my little son as well :)

My name is Terri Moore and I live in Denver, Co where I was born and raised. My husband and I have an 11 year old daughter who I home school. We also have 2 fur kids as well. Sophie a 4 year old black lab mix and Lily a 3 yr old Westie. I have been doing nails out of my home for over 15 years now specializing in hand painted nail art. I have also always been a very artistic person who loves using bright colors in my work. I got into stamping about 5 years ago when an online friend of mine sent me some clear stamps and I was hooked. My husband created a website for me to try and sell my cards from shortly thereafter but about a year later I heard about Etsy and started a shop there instead. I have now expanded to selling boxes, bags, journals and anything else that can be stamped on as well. My main goal is to make more than just an average card. I want my items to be able to be used and enjoyed for many years to come.


I find a lot of inspiration for my creations from challenges and other stampers. I also find inspiration from catalogs and things around me too.

Caden & Layla

Hello all! Sorry it has taken me so long to get you and update on the benefit for Caden Jace that was held on Feb.6th!

First off, I want to give a HUUUUUUGE thanks to everyone that donated an item. His family was in awe of your kindness!

The benefit went great! There was an auction, lots of raffles, bands, face painting, bake sale, and so much more going on! I personally think there was a great turnout! The place was packed with people.

I just talked to one of Caden's family members, and the benefit raised $2,000 for Caden and his family! WOW! Amazing!

Thank you all so much for anything and everything you did to help.

Caden is still currently in the hospital waiting for his heart transplant. Please keep him and his family in your prayers!

My store name is Vital Mother Moon. I joined Etsy mom in January - I am a new mom, my sun Negus Tafari was born in September.

Tell us more about your store items and why you love making them?

On Etsy I make healing care products for body - inside and out. The products are made from my other social enterprise - urban farming! I own and manage a community-based urban farm in the heart of Pittsburgh, PA. There we grow our herbs and harvest and dry them for tea mixes, tinctures and salves! Everything is done right here in Pittsburgh PA.

What is one thing you want everyone to know about you?

My herstory is spending almost a decade learning plant-based medicine while being a Birth and Postpartum Doula. So I have been very dedicated to women's health and the use of natural products around the childbearing years to support fertility, pregnancy and baby.

What’s your favorite thing to do during Easter?

I love to be outside in this beautiful spring weather - so potting up bulbs, uncovering spring buds and watching the bunnies and birds come out of their hideaways is the best part for me!

How much Easter chocolate/candy bunny or eggs will you let your kid(s) eat?

My sun Negus is only 5 mos old, so he will be getting no chocolate this year. But my partner and I have been discussing the history and the disparities around the chocolate industry and if there is any chocolate in the home it will be fair-trade only - but thankfully there is a growing market around fair-trade so I can easily find healthy and conscious versions of this favored treat!

I’ve been an etsymom for a few months

I have sort of a mixture of items in my shop. The ones I am most excited about is my newest item… my personalized ABC Books! These really are adorable… they teach the ABC's, 123's, shapes, colors, first words and so much more! 
My kids LOVE their books and they have learned so much from them. 
And now just WAIT.... it gets so much better! I will custom design this book with YOUR pictures, with YOUR childs name on the cover, and with a personalized note from YOU!

For example, first letter of child's name, G is for grandparents, M is for mom, D is for dad, siblings, pets etc. etc. 
Oh- and I also have other colors and designs on my etsy site too! 
The possibilities are endless!

I have loved creating these because I know how much my kids have loved theirs. They not only have learned from them, but they love seeing themselves & those things and people that are most important to them in a real life book. It makes me so happy to think I could create something that will be a family treasure as they are in our home.

What is one thing you want everyone to know about you?

I am a stay at home mom of a hilarious two year old little boy and an adorable one year little girl. My family is my life and I am having so much fun! I love etsy, it has given me an outlet and a ‘reason’ for all my crazy projects I find myself getting into!
