Etsymom Giveaways #7 - Silly Beanz (Closed)

Good Morning! Happy Monday to you all! Today's giveaway is sponsored by Shana at Silly Beanz. Shana has all kinds of georgeous hair accesories at her store. I am in love with all of her hair blossoms and I think you will too!  And the winner of this giveaway can choose ANY of her red, white, pink items or any item with hearts!

Here is a little more about this cute little boutique:

What’s your store name and how long have you been an Etsymom?

MY Store name is Silly Beanz, named after our 3 children who we referred to as "beans" when I was pregnant with them.

I've been an "etsymom" for a few months...not sure exactly.

How did you get started as an artist?

I wanted to make clips for my first little girl who has some seriously wild hair!
What sets you apart from other people making similar items?

I like to customize everything as best I can, I pay serious attention to each petal on my hair blossoms, making sure each one sits just right. My best sellers are my hair blossoms and I seem to have a knack for

customers who are looking for multiples of the same item. I've sent flowers to Hawaii for someone's nieces, I've done several for various bridal parties or for the flower girls.

What’s your favorite valentine’s item in your store?

I'd have to say the Blushing Pink Hydrangea....it's so precious.

Give us one tip on how you managed to create/sell/manage your store and at the same time be a busy mom?

HA! I create when the kids are asleep, and even then, it's only an hour at a time...I'm so wiped out from all 3 of them (they are ages 4, 2 3/4, and 17 mths).

I manage my store on a daily basis as best I can, making sure orders get out as soon as possible. Luckily, I can print the labels at home and stick it in the mailbox, so technically,

I don't have to leave the house!

As mentioned, the winner of this giveaway can pick any one item from her store that's red, white, pink or with heart in honor of Valentine's Day! Here is how to enter:

Etsymom Giveaway #6 - Sykin's One Stop Twilight Shop (Closed)

I met Missi, the owner of Sykin's One Stop Twilight Shop, last year right here on Etsymom. Since then we've exchanged business cards and also shared thoughts on giveaway, and cross promotions. So it is so great that I am posting this Giveaway for her. I hope you like her items as much as I do because they are truly unique!

What’s your store name and how long have you been an Etsymom?

My shop’s name is Sykin’s One Stop Twilight Shop. I’ve been an Etsymom since June of 2009.

How did you get started as an artist?

I’ve always been interested in crafting. I started out drawing when I was a kid and then sort of changed my craft to making jewelry. I don’t know when or how I would say I started as an artist. I started on Etsy almost 2 years ago because a friend of mine had a shop and I thought it was such a neat community. So I guess I can give some credit to her!

What sets you apart from other people making similar items?

I don’t like limiting myself to one craft so it’s not unlikely to find two or three random mediums mixed together to achieve one of my pieces. Given that my shop is so focused on one theme, I try and keep everything related to Twilight, but could easily be admired by a non Twilight fan. Also, I live in the state and visit the locations mentioned in the books several times a year so it’s easy for me to get resources that other shops may not be able to get and it will always be 100% authentic.

What’s your favorite valentine’s item in your store?

Hm. That’s a tough one! I think my favorite is one of my new items. It’s the Twilight inspired 3 Hearts Bracelet (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=39371812). It has 2 clear hearts and a blood red heart on a silver chain, along with 2 blood red bicone beads, 2 topaz beads, and a silver “love” stamped charm.

Give us one tip on how you managed to create/sell/manage your store and at the same time be a busy mom?

I do everything on my kids’ schedule! I’m on maternity leave right now after having my second child in December and I can’t find the time to eat most days, but I try and work on new items every time I have 5 minutes to myself. I keep my jewelry supplies close by in a travel case so I can whip them out whenever I get a chance.

For this giveaway, the winner will get a OOAK Gold & Pink Heart Earrings

Here are some simple steps to enter this contest and win this beautiful set of earings:

Mandatory Entry - Visit Sykin's One Stop Twiling Shop and select one favorite item from the store, leave a comment with your email address. (so I can contact you if you win!)

1 Entries - Become an Etsymom Facebook Fan (current fan is also eligible), leave 1 comment with your user ID or name

3 Entries - Blog about this giveaway, leave 3 comments and the link to your blog post

1 Entry - Tweet about this giveaway, leave 1 comment each day you tweeted with the link to your tweet

***This Giveaway is open to anyone anywhere!***

Etsymom Giveaway #5 - Inglish Paper Design (Closed)

I can't believe the week goes by so quickly and this is already the 5th Giveaway we are posting! Today's giveaway is sponsored by Heather at Inglish Paper Design (Inglishrea). Her paper products are so adorable and well made. She has a sophisticated taste in using great colors also!

What’s your store name and how long have you been an Etsymom?

My Etsy store is called Inglish Paper Design (http://inglishrea.etsy.com/), and I've been an Etsymom around 2 months or so.

How did you get started as an artist?

Ever since I can remember, I've always loved creating things... Whether it was doing crafts in school, or my first scrapbook as a pre-teen, there was just something about creating that really made me happy. The more I could learn, the better! :)

I started making cards about 6 years ago because I was tired of going to stores and seeing cards that really just didn't have the colors I wanted, or the designs weren't really my style, not to mention the price was crazy.

What sets you apart from other people making similar items?

I am very meticulous in my approach to making cards, and wouldn't ever sell something that wasn't put together with the utmost care and attention to detail. I also use color combos and designs are always fresh and fun.

What’s your favorite valentine’s item in your store?

My giveaway item, of course! *smiles*

Give us one tip on how you managed to create/sell/manage your store and at the same time be a busy mom?

I'm a night person by nature, so usually when everyone else has gone to bed for the night, I've gotten my second wind and am down in my studio crafting the night away, assembling packages and updating my store. LOL :)

Heather will be giving away her 10(Ten)  4 1/4” square Valentine's cards w/ envelopes.

Here is how to enter to win this really cute item:

Mandatory Entry - Visit Inglish Paper Design and select one favorite item from the store, leave a comment with your email address.

1 Entries - Follow Etysmom Blog (current follower is also eligible), leave 1 comment with you user ID or name

1 Entries - Join Etysmom Email Group (current subscriber is also eligible), leave 1 comment with your user ID or name

2 Entries - Blog about this giveaway, leave 2 comments and the link to your blog post

1 Entry - Tweet about this giveaway, leave 1 comment each day you tweeted with the link to your tweet

Etsymom Giveaway #4 - Polka Dot Bungalow (Closed)

Today our Etsymom Giveaway will be hosted by Polka Dot Bungalow. This store is run by Stephanie and she makes beautiful baby products from Car Seat Canopy to Beanies to Headbands. Here is more information about this cute store!

What’s your store name and how long have you been an Etsymom?

My store name is Polka Dot Bungalow. I have been with Etsy since December 2009. I joined with Etsymom in January 2010 and love all the helpful information that the team has to offer.

How did you get started as an artist?

Back in 2007 when I found out I was having a baby girl, I instantly started working on cute accessories to start her wardrobe. From bows to tutus to headbands to beanies the talent began to grow. It’s an art that each one of us have in certain areas. I enjoyed making these pieces for my little one and wanted to bring my ideas to the table and let mothers everywhere have a change to enjoy them as well. With a love for accessories, I have since started a line for women of all ages and sweet little boys.

What sets you apart from other people making similar items?

Everyone has their special touch to these items. My store offers a variety of different styles, in which customers can shop around for their certain style. I have often been regarded as one who steps outside of the box in my designs. I love creating new pieces and putting my special touch to them.

What’s your favorite valentine’s item in your store?

I have to say that my favorite valentine’s item would be the Baby/Toddler Pink Flower Clip with Three Interchangeable Headbands. This provides the mother with different options to choose from when creating an outfit for their child. It also allows them to use the flower to wear with their own headband, hat or just simply wear alone as a hair clip.

Give us one tip on how you managed to create/sell/manage your store and at the same time be a busy mom?

The easiest way to make the best of every endeavor your involved in is to be happy in what you do. I am truly happy in being a mother to my little girl, she is my full time job. Finding time to design and create my pieces is during nap time or in the evening once she has drifted off to sleep.. I treat my shop as a job that I love and that makes it not like work at all.

Stephanie will be giving away her favorite item from the store - Baby/Toddler Pink Flower Clip with Three Interchangeable Headbands.

Here is how to enter to win this beautiful item:

Mandatory Entry - Visit Polka Dot Bungalow and select one favorite item from the store, leave a comment with your email address.

Etsymom Giveaway #3 - StrawberrieRose (Closed)

Today's Giveaway is hosted by StrawberriesRose, a beautiful store with lots of cute Tutus, not to mention the adorable Zhu Zhu Pet tutus and mohawks. The creator/owner of this store is Aimee and below is a little more information on her and her store:

What’s your store name and how long have you been an Etsymom?

My etsy shop is Strawberrie Rose. It is a name my daughter who is now 8 decided at age 3 would be her daughter’s name one day. I have been an etsymom member for about 1 week now.

How did you get started as an artist?

In fall of 2009 I decided that I was not satisfied with my normal day to day job. I made the decision to venture off and test my creative side. I have three children who have deeply influenced me with all items “Girly” so I decided it would be perfect to make children’s tutu pettis. In addition, when the Zhu Zhu pet craze hit – I then came up with the idea to make Zhu Zhu Tutus and mohawks which was featured worldwide in The Associated Press on December 3rd.
What sets you apart from other people making similar items?

I feel that my tutus Pettis are different from others out there as they are very unique in appearance. I am a huge fan of embellishments and love to include them on my tutu pettis. All of my tutu pettis and none tied tutus are extra fluffy and I pay very close attention to every detail. It is very important to me that my customers are thrilled when they receive an item that I have created just for them.

What’s your favorite valentine’s item in your store?

I love both my Hello Kitty Inspired Tutu Pettis. They have Valentines embellishments on them that make them very special and unique. They are also super fluffy and girly.

Give us one tip on how you managed to create/sell/manage your store and at the same time be a busy mom?

Oh gosh… this is a good one. Since I also have an 8-6 pm 7 days a week job writing for law firms and caring for a 2 ½ year old at home, while I also have a 5 ½ year old and 8 year old with different school schedules it can get crazy. My advice to anyone out there is first to take a deep breath, focus, and truly believe in yourself. Second get organized, be precise and promote, promote, promote. Also, following up with customers right away is also key to selling. If they have a question about your product and they do not hear from you soon, they are likely to move on and find something else. Also, have a genuine love for what you create and truly understand that you are giving someone else in this world a little piece of you and what you are about.

Aimee is giving away any Tutu Petti or Tutu from her store, StrawberrieRose, or the winner can choose any four (4) zhu zhu tutus gift packages!

Here is how to enter this Giveaway:

Mandatory Entry - Visit StrawberrieRose and select one favorite item from the store, leave a comment with your email address.

1 Entries - Follow Etysmom Blog (current follower is also eligible), leave 1 comment with you user ID or name

What’s your store name and how long have you been an Etsymom?
My store name is RowanMayfairs. A few months give or take a few either way.

Last year I was having trouble deciding on which outfit I wanted my best friend to make for my daughter’s 2nd birthday pic’s. My best friend encouraged me to start selling cause there was room for BOTH of us on the internet.

What sets you apart from other people making similar items?
Maybe the fact I’m not doing this to support my family so I can take a bit lower of a profit.

What’s your favorite valentine’s item in your store?
My Valentines Day Patchwork ruffle pants

Give us one tip on how you managed to create/sell/manage your store and at the same time be a busy mom?
My daughter is 2yrs old, so she can happily occupy herself in her room or even sit at her table in my office/craft room while I sew. I take a break in between steps and read to her, take a sip of pretend tea or maybe build with blocks.
I have a regular full time job, have a 2yr old, plus a husband and house. So at times it is difficult to balance sewing and family.

Here's how to enter the giveaway:

Etsymom Giveaway #1 - Lavenderave (Closed)

Hi Etsymoms, I am so excited to start our series of Etsymom giveaways. The current theme of this giveaway is Valentine's Day and all of the giveaway items will have a Valentine's theme. So without further delay, here is our First Etsymom Valentins Giveaway (drum roll...) - Lavenderave

Lavenderave is a store run by Jennifer and below is a little more information about Jennifer and her store:

What’s your store name and how long have you been an Etsymom?

My store is Lavender Avenue (lavenderave), and I have been on Etsy since November 2008. I joined Etsy moms in December 2009.

How did you get started as an artist?

When I was a little girl, I used to sit by my mom while she sewed. I would take her scraps and stitch them together to make funny clothes and blankets for my dolls. I put down my needle when I was about 12, and didn’t pick it up again until I was married and we bought our first home. Out of necessity really, we couldn’t afford to buy curtains. From there I branched out to making dresses and things for my niece, then my own children. I loved the feeling of confidence that came with each new item I created.

What sets you apart from other people making similar items?

I think that each thing we make has our own signature or style to it. The old fashioned nightgowns are my most unique offering. They came about as a result of a friend’s request for a “Little House on the Prairie” nightgown for her daughter. They are so cute, and so fun to make.

What’s your favorite valentine’s item in your store?

I really like the wool felt coasters. We use them all the time at home, and they work really well. I made the Valentine coasters for my sister’s birthday last year, and thought, why not put them in the shop? I am also quite taken with the red flannel Olivia fabric. It’s going to make a darling Valentine’s Day nightgown for some little girl.
Give us one tip on how you managed to create/sell/manage your store and at the same time be a busy mom?

I try to have my children involved in what I am doing as much as possible. One thing I have done is give them an embroidery hoop with burlap or other loosely woven fabric in it, and a large blunt needle with embroidery floss, and let them just sew. My five year old daughter loves it.

Jennifer is giving away her Hearts on My Table - Set of 6 Valentine Coasters. Here is how to enter to win:

Mandatory Entry - Visit Lavenderave and select one favorite item from the store, leave a comment with your email address.

1 Entries - Follow Etysmom Blog (current follower is also eligible), leave 1 comment with you user ID or name

1 Entries - Join Etysmom Email Group (current subscriber is also eligible), leave 1 comment with your user ID or name

1 Entries - Become an Etsymom Facebook Fan (current fan is also eligible), leave 1 comment with your user ID or name

5 Entries - Purchase any item from Lavenderave, leave 5 comments

2 Entries - Blog about this giveaway, leave 2 comments and the link to your blog post

1 Entry - Tweet about this giveaway, leave 1 comment each day you tweeted with the link to your tweet

Jennifer is willing to ship this winning item to anywhere (well, on earth :)) so anyone is welcome to enter!

That's at least 12 different ways to win. This giveaway will end on February 1st at 11:59pm PST.  Winner will be drawn by random.org and announced on this blog as well as emailed.

What do you want to see on the blog?

Have any ideas of what we could do with the blog to get more traffic to it?

We've been doing gift guides on the blog and it seems to be drawing a lot of attention from the readers. Etsymom Finds - Give a Heart!

Hi Etsymom, sorry I wasn't able to post last week. I hope everyone is doing well!

For this week, instead of featuring items from our Etsymom shops, I want to bring more awareness to this Etsy shop for a great cause, HeartsforHaiti. As you are probably all aware, a series of massive earthquakes devastated Haiti last week on January 12th, leaving millions of people injured, homeless and hungry. Not to mention thousands that have lost their loved ones. HeartsforHaiti is a shop that collects donated items from Etsy sellers with the goal to donate all proceeds (net Etsy and Paypal fees) to DoctorsWithoutBorders to help support the relief effort. You can read more about how the donation work at their website homepage and profile.

For the next few weeks, the organizer of this shop is asking for a "heart" theme product, but any Etsy approved item is welcomed.
Here are a few interesting items I found from HeartsforHaiti:

Two Hearts - necklace donated by Glasfaden

With Love  - Beaded Bookmark donated by ChatonDesigns

Butterfly Heart Valentine Brooch donated by Clayshion

Perfect Together Valentine Note Card donated by DawnCorrespondence

Green Heart Button by Allaboutthebuttons

Finally, this is the item that was donated by me, LOVE ACTUALLY. I hope this item will fly out of the shop very soon!

I originally wanted to look for items donated by Etsymoms but it is very difficult to search through 500+ items. So if you have donated and would like the item to be featured here, please contact me directly at lilprincessbow@gmail.com or send me a convo via Etsy http://www.lilprincessbow.etsy.com/

Etsy stores united for a great cause, isn't this something we should share with everyone we know?

Etsymom Finds - New Year New Looks!

Want to start off your new year with a new makeover of your rooms? You don't need to change out everything in your room, just hang up some new drawings or photos, replace some decorative accessories and viola, you have a new room! To help you started, here are a few etsymom shops with beautiful artworks that might just be perfect for your room!

Jenoconnell features acrylic paintings, watercolors, aceo and drawings. Bring the outdoor into your living room with a wide selection of her paintings of trees, branches, flowers and leaves. I like her paintings on clayboard panel which you can select a few to hang as a group. It's a great way to customize your wall.

KreativeThoughts is a etsymom shop with many great photo art taken by a busy mom of 3. Her photos consist of architectural, nature and even a section with interesting photos of planes, trains and automobiles. You can sense the beauty of the items through the photographer's point of view.

Want a new look for your kids room? Then take some time to browse through Courtney's Store Memoir. I love her use of colors, shapes and patterns in all of her work. I am so impressed that she is a self-taught artist but her work looks like someone who had been doing it for years. What a talent!

Tiffanyteske is another Etsymom store with beautiful photographic art. I love reading her detail description on how each piece is created, which made me appreciate her art even more.
